Invocations
These invocations have been compiled to help us feel closer to the gods and goddesses. This is done through poetically utilising phrases and attributes recognisable to them. Enjoy💗
May Aphrodite bless you with her kindness. May the air around you grow thick with her tenderness, slowing everything down. May you feel her breath as your own, allowing her to breathe in you. She is love. Love. Love. But she has been misrepresented.
Young Bacchus, who runs through the night. The forests at your feet. The moss and stones are holding you close. The trees are your temple. Strong lover of the woods. Come visit me.
Homage to the Moon Goddess Selene, after a night of meditation being graced by her. Selena, your cooling moon light visits me, and calms all my passions.
Visualise sinking down into a pool of still cooling water. Sit in depth silence. Let your body and mind weave itself back together again to feel whole and centred. Listen to your depth.
Pan, sweet beloved Pan. If people only knew your joy, your love of freedom. You are not seperate from anything, your name meaning All. You are deeply embedded in life, Lord Pan. God of the wild, god of nature, god of the mountain wilds, God of fields, groves and wooded glens, I invoke thee.
Bestow the Owl Gift, the ability to write and communicate clearly. Show us to the burial places of mythical kings. Strike the rock with your spear. Expel the Vices from the Garden of Virtue. I call your name. Your aegis, your shield made of goat skin, produces a sound as from a myriad roaring dragons. Roar it.
An aspect of the Goddess Artemis could be seen in the High Priestess. Her archetypal feminine energy embodies cool-minded clarity, direction, fearlessness, courage. Artemis is the goddess of the forests and mountainous wildlands. She helps with the ability to protect oneself and provide nourishment. A moon goddess, she is a protector in childbirth, of nine-year-old girls (who were called her “little she bears”) and relieving women’s ill health. As a mountain goddess, she is free to roam and be true to herself.
